Marching to Someone Else’s Drum
For Julie Brickley, Notary Public and owner of Signed-N-Sealed, service to others just comes naturally. Whether it’s to her family, community, or country; through serving others, Julie is able to serve herself. As a self-proclaimed Air Force brat, Julie spent her childhood moving from place to place, going wherever the military sent her family. She embraced the challenge of constantly meeting new people, and happily made friends wherever she went. She enjoyed military life so much that, when she was old enough, Julie enlisted in the Navy and spent eight years serving her country in Top Secret assignments as a Cryptology Technician.
Living for Her Family
While Julie loved her time in the military, everything changed when she had a family. She married her husband, Michael, in 1989; and together they raised two beautiful children (Adam and Kate) on their farm east of Colorado Springs. Julie’s family was always her top priority, and her children’s up-bringing and education became her passion. During her 15 years of homeschooling, Julie made sure they (and she) were active in a variety of extracurricular and service activities, especially 4-H.
Now that her children are grown, Julie maintains close relationships with both of them. Nothing fulfills her as much as the chance to spend time with the wonderful human beings her children have grown to be.
Finding Her Niche
After spending years in the service of others, Julie was determined to find another pursuit that would be just as rewarding. She wanted to do something she would enjoy, so she started by taking a look at her hobbies. Julie figured she wouldn’t be able to do much with her scrapbooking, but knew she was onto something when she considered how much she loves to study and learn about law.
After much thought, Julie decided to become a Notary Public for the State of Colorado. She received her license in October 2011, and by 2012, Julie began her 24-hour notary business, Signed-N-Sealed. Since then, she has earned additional certifications as a Loan Signing Agent, and keeps up to date on changes in the law through classes with National Notary Association and 123Notary.com.
Living Her Dream
Through Signed-N-Sealed, Julie has been able to pursue her lifelong mission to help others. Whether it is notarizing adoption papers or a loan for a first-time home buyer or meeting with a client in their hospital room, Julie revels in her ability to help others reach major milestones in their lives. She takes pride in being able to do the job right the first time, relieving her customers of the stress that would otherwise be involved in such important moments. Through serving others, Julie is able to serve herself and live the life she has always wanted.
